Horizon is designed based
on the
ISPS code compliance for port facilities.
Horizon Add-On Modules
Vessel Tracking Database Module
The Vessel Tracking Database module contains both Vessel Information
Database as well as the Vessel Planning Board. The Vessel Information
Database can arrange data based on select data fields such as MMSI, call
sign, vessel type, and speed. The Vessel Planning Board offers a simple
planning and tracking tool for vessels scheduled to utilize port facilities.
Recording and monitoring functions include vessel arrivals, movements, and
departures.
Enhanced Monitoring & Messaging Module
For additional functionality, Horizon’s Enhanced Monitoring and Messaging
Module offers sophisticated AIS communication functions such as
anti-grounding and anti-collision alarms, configuration of remote guard
zones around AIS targets, and time filtering to remove redundant AIS
messages. Operators can also adjust the rate of report assignments on mobile
AIS transponders and send/receive text and safety-related AIS messages to
vessels in the port.
Radar Overlay Module
Radar Overlay offers a real time radar image overlaid on your electronic
chart for use in demanding applications such as search and rescue, iceberg
detection, obstacle avoidance, and coastal surveillance. All ICAN modules
offer customizable functionality to meet your unique requirements. Contact
ICAN Sales for more information.

the Radar Module.
Voyage and Search & Rescue Management
Module
Five distinct Search and Rescue patterns (Expanding Square,
Parallel Track, Creeping Line, Sector Search and Track Line), provide you
with the ability to display, import and export new or previously created
patterns for SAR operations. Using the international standard for binary
messages, SAR plans can be transmitted to AIS equipped vessels using shore
based AIS infrastructure.
Nav
Aids Module
ICAN's NavAids Module also integrates with Horizon to facilitate
management of aids to navigation. The NavAids module is a part of our
solution for Maritime Administrations & Coast
Guards. Based on an underlying Microsoft Access database, the NavAids
Module provides both text based information and real time visualization of
marker buoys and other aids to navigation. Integration with current
generation positioning systems facilitates significant improvements in the
accuracy and repeatability of placements.

Horizon Vista
Basic Port Monitoring Solution
Horizon Vista is ICAN’s entry-level port monitoring product
that displays real-time AIS data and is ideal for port operators who simply
want to view AIS traffic on an electronic chart. Vessels equipped with AIS
transponders are displayed on the chart as AIS targets with relevant
information displayed in configurable information boxes. You can select an
AIS target from a list or from the chart to view the vessel’s details. You
can pan and zoom or toggle to a full screen view to quickly see the AIS
target information you are looking for.
Horizon Vista allows you connect to client network connections including
serial, TCP or UDP, so you have the ability to connect to AIS Networks
anywhere in the world!
Horizon Vista can also receive data and text messages over the AIS
network from vessels carrying AIS transponders. You can view vessel position
reports, static and voyage related data, and Aids to Navigation (AtoN) data.
AIS equipped AtoNs transmit information on the status of the buoy (low
battery level, light functioning, on position, etc.) directly to your
office.
Horizon Vista fits nicely into ICAN’s suite of port
monitoring products and can be easily upgraded to Horizon at a later date if
additional functionality is required. ICAN also protects your purchase; if
an upgrade is desired, the money invested in Horizon Vista is put toward the
purchase of Horizon. ICAN is committed to building successful relationships
through customer satisfaction.
DataSwitch
The Marine Data Routing Solution
DataSwitch
is a Windows-based software solution used to manage AIS data received from
networking multiple AIS data sources. DataSwitch acts as a messenger
ensuring that the desired AIS data flows easily and efficiently to the
correct users. Used in combination with Horizon, DataSwitch allows the
information from one or more AIS base stations, transponders and/or
receivers to be analyzed, logged, filtered, and securely transmitted to
defined users.
DataSwitch has been designed to effectively filter and organize data;
allowing each user to view only the data they are configured to receive. For
instance, a user account can be configured to view only one fleet of
vessels, or vessels entering/leaving the port, or vessels carrying hazardous
materials, etc. You can use this feature to closely monitor port activities
and better detect suspicious vessels.
DataSwitch’s ability to filter data allows you to control the information
sent to each user and forward only required information. A port can use this
feature to send detailed data to a regional headquarters, while sending
other users limited information.
DataSwitch has a variety of uses for a variety of users. As an example,
DataSwitch offers a port the option to source out AIS data to a third party
while maintaining full control over what information gets transmitted.

available click here.
DataStore
DataStore is a product that consists of a Service (backend database) and an
Application (user front-end application) for logging, playback and filtering
of NMEA and NMEA-formatted data. The Service runs on any computer with TCP
connectivity, including the same server as the LSS (DataSwitch). It can be
deployed as a local service for local use by applications like ICAN’s
Horizon, ECS, or as a shared service for use by all. Data stored in the AIS
database can be queried and played back into Horizon or another ECS system
or application.
For more information on DataStore, visit it's
product page.
DataScribe
DataScribe consists of two components that can be used to report against
virtually any ICAN database or data source. The first component is the
back-end report server. The second component of DataScribe is the report
generation tool that allows users to select report templates, generate new
report templates, select data sources to run the report against, run,
preview and print the report.
DataScribe Designer
Provides tools to generate custom reports.
DataScribe Web Service
Allows users to publish reports to internet/intranet sites.
Maestro - AIS Service Manager
(ASM)
Maestro is an IALA A-124 compliant ASM user interface display and
configuration utility for the AIS Network. It allows the user to graphically
configure any connected component including DataSwitch, AIS Base stations,
or DataStore. ICAN ASM provides a user friendly web interface to manage
multiple DataSwitch products in a given area by using a single tool from any
network location.

ICAN Chart Server
ICAN has developed a new S-57 Chart Server application which can be accessed
through Horizon via the internet. The S-57 Chart Server application is
installed on a separate computer and can serve a number of Horizon clients.
The S-57 Chart Server needs to be maintained by a network administrator;
who is responsible for providing up-to-date chart corrections and installing
them for others to download.
The S-57 Chart Server is an external application installed on a remote
computer to provide charts for Horizon systems. The S-57 Chart Server takes
ENC files and converts them to SENC files which can then be downloaded to
Horizon; complete the instructions within Horizon.
Seascape
Vessel Tracking Powered by
DataSwitch
SeaScape is a
browser-based display of real time AIS data that allows users to securely
monitor vessel traffic. Administrators can set up user names and passwords
so that users can log-in from anywhere in the world. Clients are connected
through a public or private network so that all participants can view vessel
traffic for the specified coverage areas. For easy chart loading and
viewing, the Java application uses converted S-57 data as required.
A cost
effective solution designed to view AIS information, SeaScape displays real
time AIS information overlaid on electronic charts. You have full control
over the display and can zoom, pan or change viewing locations. SeaScape makes vessel tracking information available to you in your
office at the push of a button. Knowing the exact location of each vessel
enables you to effectively monitor and plan your operations.
This solution is designed for users that require a continuous display of
AIS data over a network.
